The area is known for the landmark Victorian-era Stanley Dock. On its quayside, the vast Tobacco Warehouse has been converted into apartments, and the opposite warehouse is now a hotel.
Canalside Park has paths beside the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, and The Invisible Wind Factory art centre hosts concerts and multimedia shows. Old-school cafes and a few global eateries dot the area.
